Trust Me… is my first ColourPop Lippie Stix. Actually it’s one of the only two items I have ever purchased from ColourPop- I don’t generally like buying cosmetics online unless I’ve already tried it but those prices…SO GOOD.

It’s a Matte X formula and of the matte lipsticks I’ve tried is not the most drying but is certainly not all that comfortable after a few hours. But it doesn’t really move around (duh) and it lasts fairly well through eating. My biggest complaint about this lipstick, other than the gradual moisture sucking, is how it wears away. It doesn’t really evenly fade it’s almost more like it flakes off and sort of haphazardly. Like the corners of the mouth flake off then random chunks from the middle of the lips so it ends up looking jagged and uneven, which becomes especially obvious when talking. Perhaps that’s a general issue with matte lipsticks and I just haven’t tried enough to know but I don’t find that attractive and it makes me generally unwilling to try another color in the same formula.

Colorwise, I’d say that it’s an OK red on me. I think it’s a little too bright for my face and kind of washes me out. I feel the same way about it that I do MAC’s Ruby Woo. They are classic colors but don’t really do me any favors. It pulls the focus straight to my lips in a way that is overwhelming.

Since purchasing Trust Me… I’ve done some researching into reds that are better for light olives and I have a list of others to try that are going to *hopefully* be a better fit for me.
